This page gives information on accessing funding for local development projects, if you are aware of any other sources of funding not covered here, please let us know so that we can keep the information up to date.
There have some major changes in the way sport is funded since Great Britain won the bid to hold the 2012 Olympics.
There is funding for development, but it no longer comes as a budget specifically for water polo, so if one was planning a development project involving the purchase of equipment, financial support for extra pool time, and funding for teachers or coaches, all three areas may have to be accessed separately from various bodies. In many cases it is now necessary to produce a business plan to put your case to the funding body. Ask yourself does your planned project tick their boxes.
Below is a list of funding agencies, more information can be obtained from their web sites. Your local County Sports Partnership Coordinators, asa County and Regional Secretary’s, asa Partnership Development Managers (PDM) and the 49 new asa County swimming coordinators may also be able to advise you about more local funding e.g. the Yorkshire & Humberside Bursary Scheme
